The Giro IONOS Helmet is sculpted around 21 massive vents and a system of internal ventilation channels. Giro's wind tunnel testing shows that this internal ventilation thrusts 15% more cool air across the rider's head than their Atmos Helmet.
Giro also has made the IONOS lighter than the Atmos by utilizing lightweight composite materials and through their in-mold construction in a 4 piece shell. In-mold construction fuses the helmet’s outer shell with the impact-absorbing EPS liner. The two materials are fused together, and one is reinforced by the other. This ‘exoskeleton’ allows IONOS to be lighter, more durable and more ventilated than traditional road helmets.
The IONOS also has the Roc Loc 4 adjuster on the back of the helmet for ease of proper sizing.
